Advertising for therapy practices
Google Remarketing Ads for Therapists
Before planning remarketing, check whether it is allowed for the service you advertise. Google treats mental-health counseling as sensitive content, which restricts using website visitors and customer data to build advertising audiences.
Who this service is for
For practice owners who have been offered retargeting, already have audience tags installed, or want a review of their Google Ads setup. The first deliverable is an eligibility and audience assessment; it is not a promise to launch a therapy retargeting campaign.
Why therapy remarketing needs a separate review
Remarketing usually means reaching people again because they visited a website or interacted with a business. A visit to a counseling page can reveal sensitive interests. Google restricts advertiser-curated audiences for sensitive health services, including website visitor segments and Customer Match. We do not treat standard retail retargeting advice as a suitable template for a therapy practice.
Check the audiences and tags already in use
An audit should identify audience lists, their sources, how they are attached to campaigns, and whether any data is being collected unnecessarily. A tracking tool being installed does not establish that its audience use is allowed. We review campaign settings and data flows before recommending changes.
Assess permitted ways to reach prospective clients
Search can respond to a relevant query. Eligible contextual Display placements may offer another route. Any predefined audience option still needs to meet policy and fit the actual service. We compare these approaches with the practice's needs instead of disguising a prohibited visitor list with a different label.
Distinguish clinical services from other offers
Advertising counseling to prospective patients and advertising a training course to professionals are different cases. Eligibility depends on the real offer, landing page, audience, and data. A practice with several offers needs each one reviewed; a nonclinical label does not change a clinical destination.
Budget for the assessment before buying media
Begin with a defined review of tags, lists, and active campaigns. If a suitable campaign is available, agree its media budget and objective separately. Evaluate qualified inquiries and practice outcomes rather than promising to recover every visitor who left a website.
Questions about Google Remarketing Ads for Therapists
Can I retarget everyone who visits my therapy website?
Do not assume that is permitted. Google restricts advertiser-curated audiences for sensitive health services. Counseling visitor lists need review before any audience-based campaign is proposed.
Does consent make a prohibited audience allowed?
Consent alone does not override Google's advertising policy. Both the platform rules and the actual data use need to be considered.
Can we still run Google ads?
Restrictions on remarketing do not prohibit every form of advertising. We can assess Search and other eligible approaches for your practice.
